Car Parking Arrangements

The Club will be shortly making changes to the current parking arrangements for members and visitors, particularly those arrangements for disabled drivers. The disabled driver spots on the level closest to the Club premises are deemed to be too hazardous to use from a driver and pedestrian perspective. It has been noted that when these spots have previously been open there are incidences of drivers backing into the pedestrian protection poles and an instance of the club building being reversed into. These disabled driver spots are to be permanently closed and additional arrangements for disabled drivers have been made.

These new arrangements for disabled drivers will be the designation of 8 dedicated disabled driver bays adjacent to the bridge crossing the creek. There will be 4 spots on either side of the bridge available. Additionally there will be 9 further disabled driver spots made permanently available in the south eastern carpark area on the left hand side as you drive into that carpark. If you are driving a vehicle with a passenger with a disability you are encouraged to drive to the front of the club, drop your passenger off and then park your car and when leaving pick your passenger up from the front of the club.

We have encouraged our staff to park their vehicles in the eastern car park to help alleviate congestion in the front car park. We recognise the fact the parking at the front of the club is preferable for our customers and thank our staff for being helpful with this request. It has certainly helped free up much needed prime parking positions.

We will be scaling back the drop off and pickups with the golf cart in coming weeks as this was initially implemented as a service to our customers to get them to the front of the club during our major building works in a safe manner. With this work now completed the daytime usage of the service will be scaled back. We intend to continue to operate this service of an evening for our customers with our security staff driving the buggy to ensure you get to your vehicle of an evening with a minimum of fuss.

Lastly, you would be aware that we have trialled some directional movement changes for vehicles entering and leaving the old Hume Highway entrance to the club. We are coming to the end of this trial period and after assessment we have decided to revert back to making this entrance/exit multi directional, as it was in the past. It is anticipated that the concrete plinths will be moved from the road in the next week or so after the line marking in the area has been altered. The no U Turn signage will remain at the entrance to the carpark from the old highway. There is no doubt the drivers who obey road rules will comply with this request and the rest will flout the rules and put their insurance premiums at risk.
