PRIVACY POLICY
Mittagong RSL Club Ltd ABN 69 001 069 674 (the Club, MRSL, we, our or us) recognises and respects the right of individuals to privacy.
This Privacy Policy covers the handling of personal information by the Club.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) when dealing with personal information.
Definitions
Personal information as defined in the Privacy Act is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:
a. whether the information or opinion is true or not; and
b. whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.
Personal information also includes sensitive information, which is information or opinion about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal record, provided the information or opinion otherwise meets the definition of personal information. Health information is also sensitive information.
1. The kinds of personal information we collect and hold
The Club collects a range of personal information which includes but is not limited to the following:
1.1 About members or individuals applying for membership,
Your name, address, phone number, email address, signature, and the name of other Clubs you belong to.
When you apply for Club membership we are required to sight government identification such as your license, but we do not record any information from the identifying document other than the type of identification document.
We may collect other types of personal information, such as credit card details, or dietary requirements (which may be health information), when you make restaurant or function bookings and/or when you participate in contests and promotions or return feedback forms.
1.2 About guests, young people and children visiting Tabatinga,
Your name, address, phone number, email address. Our VIP membership to Tabatinga includes a gift if you have provided us with your birth date, but provision of that information is entirely optional.
We also collect the name/s of children, ages, gender and dates of birth. For children’s parties we may also collect dietary requirements.
1.3 About job applicants and employees,
Your name, address, work history, emergency contact, your references and referee details when working for the Club, or applying for work with us.
We also collect government ID where required, information for payroll, outcomes from police checks, medical certificates and verification of training such as the certification for Responsible Service of Alcohol.
1.4 About suppliers, and other third parties we work with to provide our services
Your name, address, email address, phone numbers and banking details for payment of invoices.
1.5 General collection
In the interests of security and safety, and the comfort of members and guests, the Club operates video cameras on our premises and may collect your image.
Upon entry to the Club, we may also collect your government identification ie your license details and/or your image using our sign-in program.
The Club uses social media sites to promote our activities, and we may collect your personal information through those sites.
Your personal information may be collected and held in electronic or hard copy format.
Where practicable, the purpose for which we collect personal information will be made clear at the time of collection. If you do not provide us with certain information we may be unable to accept an application for membership or provide access to services.
2. How we use your information
The Club will use the personal information for the purpose disclosed at the time of collection, or otherwise as set out in this Privacy Policy.
We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless we are authorised or required by law to do so.
Generally, we will only use and disclose your personal information as follows:
a) to establish and maintain your membership to the Club, providing you with newsletters, emails, annual reports and information to enable you to play an active role in the Club,
b) to provide the products or services you have requested,
c) to answer your inquiry,
d) to register you for events, promotions or competitions,
e) in accordance with our Constitution,
f) to assist us to make our sites, services and products more valuable to members and guests,
g) for direct marketing of products or services and to keep you informed of new developments we believe may be of interest to you. We will provide you with the opportunity to decline any further marketing communications,
h) to third parties where we have retained those third parties to assist us to operate the Club and provide the products or services requested.
Third parties include but are not limited to marketing and promotions companies, catering and event coordinators, leisure and gaming providers, and businesses operating from our premises.
3. Personal information collected using the MRSL App
The MRSL App (the App) is a software application for the Club used by Members and Non-Members to access information about the Club. You must be over the age of 18 to use the App.
We recommend you review the Terms and Conditions for use of the App, which also contain additional privacy information.
The MRSL App collects information including your name, membership number, birth date and contact details. The App enables financial Club Members to login to view membership details such as your points balance.
Members using the App can access gaming information but the opt-in to receive that information is entirely optional.
Members using the App may also receive messages from us relating to membership, activities and events but the opt-in to receive messages is entirely optional.
The App can collect location data if this optional feature is turned on. We may use location data to send messages relating to the Club and activities. The App does not store location data.
You can control whether or not we collect your device location information through the settings of your mobile device and the App settings.
No information is stored after the MRSL App is uninstalled from the device it was downloaded to.
4. Our website
To improve your experience of our website www.mittagongrsl.com.au, we collect information from your device using cookies.
A cookie is a data file which contains information about your use of the site. We may collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address and your browser type.
You can choose the way cookies are accepted through your internet browser settings, however if you choose not to accept cookies your experience of the site may not be optimal.
Our website also contains links to other websites MRSL does not own or control. When you leave our site, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of these other websites, including Aristocrat and Google
5. How we protect your personal information
The Club protects the personal information it holds.
We use a combination of physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to secure personal information in digital or hard copy, from unauthorised access or disclosure, misuse, interference, loss.
When personal information is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, we dispose of your information securely.
6. Disclosure of personal information to third parties
Generally, the Club does not disclose your personal information to overseas recipients, however, some of our service providers store information in countries outside of Australia including but not limited to the United States of America.
7. How you can access, change or delete your information?
You can request access to the personal information that we hold about you by contacting our Privacy Officer.
In most situations will provide you with access, unless we refuse or can only provide you with some information, for example, where your personal information involves other people. If this was to occur, we will write to you to explain.
We may need to ask you to identify yourself before providing access.
If you’re aware that your personal information is out of date, incomplete or inaccurate please let us know as soon as possible. We will then take steps to correct your information.
If you wish to have your personal information deleted, please contact us and we will delete that information wherever practicable.
If we don’t think the information needs amending or deleting, we will provide you with a reason for our decision and, we will note with your personal information that you have disputed its accuracy or requested deletion.
